Launch of "La Biblioteca se mueve", a new service for requesting books by telephone
The Public Libraries of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are taking to the streets and launching "La Biblioteca se mueve", a new municipal service for requesting books by telephone and collecting them at the El Lasso reception centre from 20 April.
With this new library extension service, which is intended to be extended to other areas of the city, people can request up to five books by telephone on 928 311 795 and 928 332 540 before the third Thursday of each month and on that day they can collect the new loans and return them between 10:30 and 13:00. The CAM El Lasso is located at Calle Amurga 6.
It should be noted that one of the strategic lines that the Municipal Library Network has set itself is the cultural commitment to proximity and the environment, an objective that consists of taking the library out into the street and establishing collaboration agreements with organisations to offer them its services and activities. Thus, the Municipal Libraries work to echo the culture of the city by actively participating in the programming and dissemination that directly affects the districts and neighbourhoods, collaborating with other social agents to develop projects of mutual interest.
